Whats everyones thoughts on the tool, The Ovilus. I have done a bit of research on it and seeing as the dictionary is pre programmed with some 500 something words, and reading reports of people who have ordered one saying that its saying things not in the dictionary and using names not in it. After the research ive done on it, i have decided...I want one. And im starting a savings just to order one since the guy only ships once a month and the price tag is 200 bucks. Im selling some stuff and them im ordering it, cant wait to test this out on some investigations. Theres a cheaper version, supposedly more accurate than the device, and all it is, is a computer program that works like a cross over between the Franks box and the Ovilus, ive watched a few things about this program as well and am thinking of ordering it since its under the 20 dollar price range.

Far be it from me to dissuade anyone from experimenting with any tool, but I simply think the Ovilus is crap. Of course, I don't have first hand experience to back this up, and will gladly eat my words if I turn out to be wrong, but that's my opinion.
"For Entertainment Purposes Only" says it all.

Well, Ive read alot of reviews that all start off with people thinking this thing is a joke, Then they try it out and the accuracy of responses to things they say makes it become a must have tool in their investigations. The first few things i read and listened to on it made me just think, eh thats cool. Then the more i got into it, The more intrigued i began to be. What started as a quest to buy a franks box, ended in wanting an Ovilus. Sure it can be thought of for "Entertainment purpose only" but generally any paranormal investigative tool would be considered the same thing, being that we cannot actually confirm it does what its supposed to without having any solid facts on the paranormal.
Ill admit, your post almost disuaded me...then i researched some more and read a few personal tales, and listened to a few files and watched a few videos...Then i immediatley felt too strongly to buy this. I will get it soon! Lets see if its any good! If anything, It has a K2 meter that uses "YES" and "NO" Phrases and are audible in it.

Well, like I said, I am not even trying to dissuade you. If you want the Ovilus, more power to you. Reach for your dreams, Gary!
All I'm saying is that it's crap, any stories you've seen or read are either fictionalized or told by brain dead peons without even a fraction of my immense intellect, and that it's....uh, crap! But that's all I'm really saying...
As far as "for entertainment purposes only" goes, I would agree to a point. My retort would simply be that the other paranormal gear I use doesn't actually claim to speak to the dead, for lack of a better phrase. Also, the creator of the devices in my toolkit don't say the piece of equipment is literally to be used for entertainment purposes only.
For instance, I know my EMF meters, digital voice recorders, video camera, and "magnaphone" were not constructed for the purpose of detecting ghosts, recording ghost voices, seeing ghosts, or listening to ghosts; respectively....but I use them in ways that are conducive to either eliminating a paranormal claim's validity, to be an unbiased witness (in the case of a video camera), or to test out for myself an established hypothesis of ghost research and investigation. The Ovilus, in my opinion, does none of these things.
But, hey, that is just my opinion and, as always, I could quite easily be wrong. Believe it or not, I actually am looking very much forward to seeing it in action for myself.
Godspeed!

The group I'm meeting with on Friday "test drove" one. They used it in one member's apartment. Apparently the steamy bathroom is infested with demons. Although there's never been the least bit of paranormal activity in this particular place. They had to give it back so there was no info on a place WITH activity.
